Can't wait to meet you my little spaghetti monster!

SO, for those of you who don't know, I'm pregnant and live in rural Newfoundland. What that means is my hometown's hospital is unable to facilitate my delivery, so I have to go to a bigger center.

I have to travel from Springdale, NL to Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. It's about spaghetti 418177 spaghetti (66 miles) and will take about an hour. It may seem like a long way for some, but it is just a short trip to get to meet my little spaghetti monster!

Spirit Of Lekwammen = a whole lot of spaghetti!

The worlds tallest totem pole was constructed in 1994 to celebrate the Commonwealth Games.

It was named 'Spirit Of Lekwammen' which means 'Land of the Winds' . It was 216 spaghetti (180 feet) tall, but was partially dismantled due to safety concerns.

Birthday Spaghetti

Today was my husband's birthday and I made him a special spaghetti birthday supper. As I was cooking it, I just HAD to count how many spaghetti were used.
230 spaghetti (192 feet) is what it takes to feed my hungry husband, a pregnant me, and our toddler daughter! That's almost as long as am ice hockey rink!

I'll Eat My Way To You!

Recently, my family (husband, daughter, and I) moved back to my home province of Newfoundland. While my family has enjoyed this move, my husband's family, in Alberta, has been taking it pretty rough (husband is an only child for his father, daughter is the ONLY grandchild).

So, today when I had a chat with my mother-in-law, who knows about my blog, asked me "How many spaghetti's would it take for me to get to you?". It was an interesting question, seeing as we are almost a whole country apart, so I had to look into it. The number is HUGE!

So, to get from Calgary, AB to Springdale, NL it would take 21,871,873 spaghetti (3,452 miles). *see google maps* So, get eating, 'cause that's a lot of spaghetti!

Adventurous Spaghetti

I'm told adventure travel is a huge market these days. Doesn't sound like my thing (I'd rather go to Italy and eat spaghetti), but if it sounds exciting to you, you should go to Sun City, South Africa. They have the worlds longest zip line
Pronutro zip 2000 is 787 spaghetti (656 feet) long! Oh, and you travel 74.5 miles/hour. Now THAT is adventurous spaghetti!

What you takin' 'bout Willis? That's a heck of a lot of spaghetti!

The United States of America is known for doing things 'BIG'. It's tallest building is the Willis Tower in Chicago

At a whooping 1741 spaghetti (1451 feet) tall, that is one tall building.

Oh Canada, that's a lot of spaghetti!

In Canada, we aren't known for much except 'being nice', playing hockey, and having 'a lot of snow' (which we actually don't this year). But, one thing people seem to know about Canada aside from those things, is that we have the CN Tower.

It is one of the tallest freestanding buildings in the world, and for some reason, people really think it's really cool! And if you need a reason to think it is even MORE cool, it is roughly 218 spaghetti (1, 815 feet) tall! Now that's a lot of spaghetti!
