Spaghetti comes in a variety of lengths, but I will be using 10 inches as my standard. I have several packages of spaghetti in my cupboard right now, and they all seem to measure right around 10 inches, so that is why I picked it as my standard.
Also, I should note I am using UNCOOKED spaghetti as my standard of measurement. Pasta does 'lengthen' after it is cooked, but it is a hard thing to measure accurately.
